ContinuingEducation
2006
- Learn to be proactive vs reactive as my project at work winds down
- Hatha Yoga with emphasis on the tree pose, vriksha-asana, for balancing
- Incorporating better health in my life (reasonably successfully to date)
- Better nutrition, selection of what I eat; how much I eat; and when I eat
- Weight training
- Walking
- More stable sleep time (weakest of the four health changes)
- MIT's Open Course Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs
- Trying to become objectified in design
- The Six-Sigma tool kit
- I am being initiated into the ways of the Six-Sigma high ceremony.
- Reading
- Joyce's Ulysses (part way through in 2005)
- Proust's In Search of Lost Time (I am currently reading Swan's Way)
- Tolstoy's War and Peace
- AYE 2006
- Writing
- Drawing
- Transform survival rules into guides
2006 Results
- By changing my nutrition and my eating habits I have lost 3" off my waist (but talk is cheap. 2006 through 2007 will be the true results of how my health improves. However I have made myself accountable to friends who are doing the same thing, so the odds are improved substantially)
- More will be revealed
2005
- Hatha Yoga
- Aikido
- Visit NYC for the first time
- Writer's Workshop
- AYE 2005
- Joyce's Ulysses
- Proust's In Search of Lost Time
2005 Results
- I was amazed at NYC, New Yorkers can indeed call their city "The Big Apple." Also, the population of Nebraska wouldn't even fill one of the Big Apple's boroughs.
- Only part way through Ulysses
- Did not Start In Search of Lost Time
- Hatha Yoga seems to be a keeper, my third year this time, for a total of 8 years.
- Aikido dropped due to inner ear problem :-(
- AYE 2005 touched some of my survival rules
