EricBabinetThis will be my first AYE conference, but already I feel like I fit right in. I have been involved in software development for over fourteen years, first as a developer and technical lead, and for the last six years as a project manager. I've worked at large consulting firms, an enterprise software company, and now I'm at DigitalThink (http://www.digitalthink.com), where I manage software development projects for our web-based e-learning platform. I have long been interested in both psychology and computers and the various ways in which those intersect. Over the years, these interests have led me to explore and become involved in counseling psychology, cognitive science, human-computer interaction, software development methodologies, and project management. I'm a big fan of experiential learning and processes that facilitate individual and group transformation. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and have two children, ages six and three. Someday I aspire to be working as an independent consultant, coaching companies on how to improve their software development and project management processes. Since a number of you are already doing that, this seemed like the right place to be, and I'm looking forward to meeting you all. It will be our pleasure, too, Eric. And you forgot to mention that you'll be staying for Shape Day, where you'll fit right in, too. - JerryWeinberg 2003.09.28
