Hi, I'm a writer, consultant and facilitator based in Minneapolis, MN. I work with managers to help them be more effective in complex human systems (like software projects and software development organizations).

I work with project teams when they're starting out with planning and risk management; when they're under way, making course corrections; and at the end to integrate what they've learned so they can use it on the next project.

I help groups take mental journeys together -- building increased awareness and committed action.

I'm also Technical Editor for STQE (Software Testing and Quality Engineering). I edit the management, measurement, and process features and a couple of other departments. And I write the Technically Speaking column, except when my co-editor Brian Marick writes it.
