Steve, can you get a copy of the diagram that Jim drew at the beginning from him? I have a hand drawn copy, but it is barely legible to me.

Agile is envision and explore, not plan and do. The only thing that customers and project managers can adjust is the features in and out. Technical excellence is a big part of Agile, as the product should be easy to change.

Agile assumes that if the plan and the reality differ, the plan is wrong, not the people.

Be quick, but don't hurry. This tied back to the Making Conscious Choices for Change session, in my mind.

We did an exercise. In the first iteration, the customer was not there. In the 2nd iteration, the customer was there. The 2nd was much more successful.

It takes 3 - 4 iterations to get the hang of working this way, so the first 3 - 4 iterations should be short.

Iteration 0 is architectural stuff - around 2 weeks per 6 months of project. There is no output to the customer from this.

If you don't have the right skill sets on the project, it will not work whether the style is Agile or anything else.

It is not as important to have the customer available full time as to have the customer available EVERY DAY, even if only for an hour.
