Tools and Using Them Effectively

We did an exercise using tools that had to be identified before the exercise started. The paradigm issue of whether or not people are tools lost them Dwayne as a resource. (Whether or not markers and the flip chart could be used before they were listed came up too.) But we do lose things for similar reasons on every project I have ever worked on.

Dwayne asked how they picked the tools before they knew what they were doing. But we do that all the time. We pick the system architecture, then determine what we will create with it.

I cannot recall ever having heard of a project that changed the chosen architecture because it was a poor fit. Does anyone else know of one?
