Tools and Using Them Effectively

One way we can amplify our effectiveness is by using tools. We use tools in almost everything we do. Tools are so common that we often use them without knowing it. This session will examine tools and how we use them. The goal is to notice things about tools and their utility that we may have overlooked. Such awareness of tools may help us be more effective in our endeavors.

Objectives
At the end of the session, I hope the participants will be able to do the following things better:

1. Notice the available tools
   
2. Notice what tools we use.
   
3. Notice how we use tools.
   
4. Learn some often overlooked principles of tools.
   
   1. Change the environment and the tool might change.
      
   2. The simplest things can multiply effectiveness.
      
   3. You don't realize that you are using some tools.
      
   4. The most important use of a tool may be the least expected.
      
   5. Stuff that is all around can be quite useful.
      
   6. A tool only needs to be good in the one attribute that is important.
      

Prerequisites: Willing to participate.
