Management Improv
Johanna Rothman Elisabeth Hendrickson Don Gray

Does something make you crazy at work? Is there a situation that has you tied up in knots? Do you go home and rant and rave to the dog? If so, then Management Improv is the session for you!

Johanna, Elisabeth, and Don will address ways in which your perception of various maddening management situations colors your reactions to them. First, they'll perform a little improv theater, with you as the audience tossing in situations for improvisation. Then, you'll have a chance to participate in improv with them, demonstrating how your feelings and mental models can color your responses.

Bring your knottiest situations: handling bullies; delivering bad news to senior management; telling your boss the situation isn't what she thinks it is; ... you know the one we mean!

Objectives - Learn how to retain your balance during difficult discussions.

- Discover new applications for negotiation skills you already have.

- Find ways to get to the heart of the matter: "what is this conversation really about?"

- Practice and observe the effects of handling situations from different perspectives.
