ThomRossiI discovered AYE through a friend who is very involved in Software Engineering. I am currently Director of Product Quality for a small software company in Mount Laurel, NJ. This responsibility covers Quality Assurance, Testing and Customer Support. I am also currently teaching in a software engineering grad class at Villanova University. From what I have read so far, I am relatively new compared to the experience level of most of the AYE attendees have. I have been in QA for 8 years now, and have performed project and process management roles as well. I am very excited about this conference - there is so much I can learn! I have only worked for two different companies, so my exposure to ideas isn't as good as I would like. I do read Software Dev and STQE magazines, and pretty much anything written by Demarco and Lister. See you all in Phoenix! Hi, Thom. You may be right about the average experience at AYE. It seems deep, and broad, though we've never actually surveyed it. But it sounds like you have plenty to contribute, and you'll find a number of colleagues there who are teaching, or have taught, software engineering at the university level (including me). In fact, we might someday have a teaching BOF, where we could share techniques and experiences (not that this doesn't happen all the time at meals and halls and sessions). - JerryWeinberg 2004.07.21
