WhenToBeginTesting

Hank is involved in a software startup with Mary and Kathy. Hank is the least technical, but is involved in doing some of the coding. Mary and Kathy are deep into the structure of the elaborate object oriented application - continually working and re-working the designs around 2 or 3 design principles they hold dear. The three of them are working toward a beta release in 9 months; they have been coding now for about 3 months. Hank suggests that they should get some advice about how to best aproach testing the application. Mary and Kathy agree, but believe it is far too early. They worry that doing this will be too much of a drag on their productivity. Hank persists and a few days of off and on heated discussions ensues. In the end, Hank loses.
