WhereDoWeComeFromWhere did we come from? Last year in the tutorial we did a human map of where we came from to gather at the tutorial... now lets expand it to all the participants.
http://www.frappr.com/ayeconference Well it is a cute little device, but why is my e-mail address mandatory, and why, once they get it are they sending me a login confirmation and password? And furthermore, why is there no unsubscribe feature in the e-mail? What if we just want a nice map and no fuss? I think there is a certain data grabbing greed that shows up during web site beta testing processes that gets in the way of developing a good product. KurtSimmons 2006.2.9 All good points, Kurt. For me, by now, so many people have my email address that I don't worry about it. I get about 200 spams a day, 95% of which I never see because of my filters, and the other 5% are tagged as suspicious. About 1 or 2 of these are actually messages I like to see, like from new people I'm happy to meet. But I'm sure it's not the same for everyone, so if you don't feel safe, just stay off the map. Or, perhaps, give them a false name and/or email address, with the right zip code. It's just a game, after all. - JerryWeinberg 2006.02.12
