AyeAttendanceByFace2005On one of the days, NaomiKarten wore a badge claiming something to the effect, "I don't remember your name either." I was reminded of my not infrequent embarrassments forgetting names when I knew the face and the face was right in front of me. So I attempted to take everyone's picture at this AYE to help me associate names with faces. I managed to get eighty-some pictures. I offer the images to everyone. I like to think I'm not alone. At least, Naomi is with me. If you have a favorite picture of your own, I'd be happy to substitute it for my efforts. If you have a picture of someone I missed, I'd be happy to add it, but please check with the person first. For now, those I missed share the visage of Kahru B. Bofferding, the universal consultant. Perhaps BentAdsersen will present Kahru to all who didn't meet him. MikeMelendez 2005.11.27
Nice, Mike, and cute. I like the bears... I wish for links on each page that allow me to get to all the other pages and a link that brings me back to this page. Thank you for sharing, You're welcome. And thank you. Apparently Bent likes bears too, though I'm not sure he originated Kahru. Any other wishes? MikeMelendez 2005.11.27 Outstanding! Thank you, Mike. SteveSmith 2005.11.27 PhilStubbington 2005.12.01 Phil, I've expanded your picture to my standard 200x280 pixels and added it to the faces. MikeMelendez 2005.12.01 Wow, I love these pictures. You managed to capture the essence of us! -- JohannaRothman 2005.12.07 I wish I could take the credit, but I attribute it to the camera and the closeness of the shot. If you look at the ones I cut from more distant shots, e.g. Don and Steve, the essence is less apparent. Oh, I do think asking someone to tell the subject a joke while I was clicking helped. I particularly like the one of Ira. You're always smiling, Johanna. (What's your secret?) Ira normally has a wistful, serious expression. MikeMelendez 2005.12.08 Replaced my effort with a much better picture of Sue Petersen provided by the lady herself. MikeMelendez 2005.12.28 Sue, the picture is great! but I have to ask, was the glint added later :-) I can see it being part of the orginal or a nice added touch. CharlesAdams 2005.12.28 Thanks, I rather like it myelf. :-) No, it's been manipulated. I bought the earrings a year or so ago and took a picture to show some friends. One of the ladies is experienced with Photoshop, and does wonderous things with her family pictures. She kindly played with this one to glamourize it a bit. I happened to be browsing my hard drive, looking for something else, when I stumbled across the picture a few minutes after I was reading the AYE site, and the figurative lightbulb went off over my head. :-) --SuePetersen 2005.12.28 Hmmm... I notice that you didn't provide a photo of you that I manipulated. :-) -- GeorgeDinwiddie 2006.01.02 <snorf> Gee, George, I wonder why?! <rolling eyes> <g> (I've known George online for almost 15 years, we both hang out in a small newsgroup that started on CI$ and migrated to the web. It was a real delight to finally meet him in person, this last AYE. However, I learned many years ago, and meeting him in person only confirmed it, that George's sense of humor can be a bit... exuberant... shall we say. <g>) --SuePetersen 2006.01.03
