CharlesAdamsI found out about the AYE conference through Jerry's web site and the last PSL workshop held in September 2002. There were several people at PSL who atended AYE and spoke very highly of it. So here I am. The PSL workshop introduced me to people that are interested in the same things as I am. I hadn't felt such energy since college. I look forward to attending AYE to see old friends, to meet new friends, and to learn new things. I have been in software development and maintenance for 26 years so I have most of my experience in the so-called dead languages of Fortran, Cobol, and PL/I; and the so-called dying language, Ada. I am interested in all aspects software maintenance. It is a very neglected area within the software community. I am learning about agile software development and enterprise systems, I am putting together a toy enterprise environment that is mostly open source software. My environment is not a production environment, but rather a safe learning environment where stupid student mistakes do not cost too much. AYE 2007 will be my fifth AYE conference. home e-mail: quantum aye 6013 at cox aye dot net -- ignore the aye Welcome! Hope life's treating you well, and hope we'll see each other at AYE. Charles, I am so glad that you can make it this year. It will be good to see you again. SherryHeinze 2003.4.4 Hi Charles. We have some so-called "dead" languages in common. What's this about "nucleation?" Not many know that word? -- JimBullock, 2003.04.19 Hi Charles, I only have about 10 years experiance in this industry. I am also interested in maintenence issues. I have a discussion off my home page about the processes needed to run a production group that you may find interesting. I have starting learning Test Driven Design using the book Unit Testing in Java: How Tests Drive the Code by Johannes Link, & Peter Frohlich. I most likely will, as I tend to devour everything I can get on a topic I am interested in.
