DaveSmithdws at davewsmith dot com I'm a recovering startup junkie in Silicon Valley, a host for AYE 2006, and the "honorary perpetual technical support" guy for the conference. I do a lot of the nitty-gritty stuff behind the scenes to make sure the website, on-line registration, and Wiki stay healthy, and that the periodic emailings get done. For AYE 2006, I'll be leading several sessions, including "Stacking Your Own Deck," on creativity. Detail on this an other will appear on the web site shortly. SteveSmith was in the session, and blogged his reaction. At AYE 2002, I helped behind the scenes a bit, but was there mostly to participate and hang out with friends. An idea that took root in a session on effective presentations turned into an article for STQE. (AYE is fun that way. Ideas get generated, and occassionaly editors and authors are within earshot to catch them and encourage their growth.) I missed AYE 2001. Bad year. At AYE 2000, BobKing and I gave a session about Software Architecture, from a "how do you know it when you see it" perspective. Some starting points:
