The wiki tends to become less useful as its content grows more useful. This trend can be countered by coherently rewriting certain pages, even eliminating some that are no longer current or useful.

Any AYEr who wishes can contribute to the wiki by rewriting any page, coherently or not. Any volunteers? - JerryWeinberg 2006.08.17


Here's an example of a discussion rewritten into something more focused:

Process wise,

  • The same bunch having the conversation noted: "Hey this is intersting. Anybody want to try to summarize it?"
  • The summary / article was posted as a draft before it became final-ish. Everyone in the conversation had a shot at assessing the rewrite.
  • We kept the original conversation:

It kind of worked this way once, so this must be a universal methodology, right? Make that the methodology.
