Greetings! This will be my first time at AYE and I look forward to the experience. I am currently involved on several professional fronts:

Documentary filmmaking: I am currently writing and co-producing a documentary about the life and legacy of Virginia Satir, whose work on systems thinking, communication, and change management have been offered in AYE workshops for many years. The filmmaker, Steve Channing, is an Emmy Award-winner, and we intend to create this film for broadcast (hopefully on PBS). We have created a short trailer about this film that will be shown in an AYE workshop that JeanMcLendon and I will facilitate, called "Meeting Virginia and Making Connections." While I'm at AYE I'll be looking for your ideas and feedback about the film and an understanding of how you may be using Satir techniques. Look for me in your midst with the videocamera and tripod, as I'll be doing interviews with attendees and filming some sessions (with permission).

Training, Coaching, Facilitation, and Consulting: I spend much of my time doing management and leadership development through training programs that I design and deliver, mostly to the pharmaceutical industry. These programs increasingly utilize e-learning, such as web modules and virtual classrooms that I design. I also offer coaching and facilitation services that may be part of classroom instruction or delivered for my clients' specific needs.

Satir practice: I am currently the Vice President of the Satir Institute of the Southeast, a non-profit organization that offers training and products based on the Satir model. I have been fortunate enough to attend several training programs from Jean McLendon, who was herself trained and mentored by Virginia Satir. I try to incorporate Satir methods and beliefs into my professional and personal life whenever I am congruent enough to remember to do it!

I now live in Chapel Hill, NC with my beloved Burmese cat, Looney Toones.

And a diva you are. Welcome, Diana. I'm very pleased you'll be with us as we carry on Virginia's work. - JerryWeinberg 2004.10.10
Not sure if Diana is likely to check this page, but does anyone know what's happened since? Unforunately I missed out on AYE last year. The trigger that made me think of this was an advert on Channel 4 television here in the UK for FourDocs - a web based open access factual documentary "opportunity". Anyone interested in putting together a documentary on AYE and/or Virginia?

Phil,

It's my understanding the documentary is still in the works. JeanMcLendon will be at the conference this year, and can provide you with more information.
