InfoAboutEmbassySuites

Some people have questions about the facilities and logistics. This is a place where we can post what we've planned and discovered, and you can ask about services or features which are important to you.

More details about the hotel itself are at EmbassySuitesPhoenixNorth

Reservation policies :

Please note that this year, along with the rest of us, hotels have been suffering from the economic downturn. As a result their policies have changed a bit. While they will try to be as flexible and accomodating as possible, they need to be able to manage their room inventory and ask that you be made aware of these policies.

Cancellations: Any reservation cancellation made more than a week out will have no penalty. If cancellation occurs within a week of your arrival date, one nights room fee will be charged.

Early departure policy: If you need to change your departure date which would result in shortening your stay, the hotel requires a three day notice. If a change is made under three days, a charge for one night will appear on your bill. If you wish to extend your stay, they cannot guarantee space, but will do what is possible to accomodate you.

The hotel has requested that we make our reservations before October 1st. After that date they will be releasing the block set aside and cannot guarantee space.

Thanks for your care in this matter.

To make a reservation online:

  • click on "book a room"
  • along with all the normal stuff, enter "CAY" in the group/convention code field (make that "AYE" for 2006)

Travel to the hotel:
  • Super Shuttle is a good option for travel to the hotel.

The hotel and the conference rooms are wheelchair accessible. There are guest rooms which accommodate people with wheelchairs.
There's a 7-11 style mini-market a block away that carries bottled water by the case. Split a case with a friend or two. The air in Phoenix is dry. To stay hydrated, you'll go through a bottle or two a day.
Bring sunglasses and sunscreen. The Sun in Phoenix is bright, even in November. We often have dinners outside. A hat's a good idea, too, for those of us without a lot of hair on top.
