PicsSessionOne035

In the first half of the session, we ran experiential exercises building products with powerrings for three distinctly different simulation contexts. The only "constant" factors were the technology, the Meddling Manager and the Complaining Customer. "Unexpected", an executive staff member, Jerry, come in for measuring each team's "success".

Innovation architecting where we enter unknown territory to prepare for a journey only guided by our vision of "where we can or might go".

Build something with powerrings that can easily be recognized by someone who has not been involved in the building. Use at least 45 pieces, but no yellow pieces, for those resources are extremely costly.

Maturity architecting where we can use an initial map created by people who "got somewhere". The map has been tried and is trusted by some people. Yet the map is not detailed and contains only a few paths and many blank areas.

Build something with powerrings that stands unsupported and is at least three feet high. No two rings that connect may be of the same color.

Solution architecting where many people have helped improve the map of the territory. Though the map seems detailed and complete, we're digging, and still finding new shortcuts and problems hidden deep in the soil of the terf.

Build something with powerrings that your customer likes better than what the other teams are building. Structures may not be "twisted" of "forced". Build for optimal strength.

Needless to say, all of the teams were successful, so next the three groups set about discussing and writing down hindering and helpful behaviors, actions, and items to their respective success.

And how easy is it to get into Chaos with such real information ...
