Re-Framing:It's Your Choice: A Significant Skill in the Effective Use of Self
Charlie and Edie Seashore

This session will explore the importance of re-framing as a critical skill of the change agent and as an intervention technique for working with individuals, partners and small groups. Highly interactive process will provide opportunities for practice in use of re-framing.
Learning Objectives
Participants can expect to come out with a basic understanding of the re-framing process, including the application to one's own thought processes as well as helping clients and partners re-frame perspectives, choices, opportunities and threats.
I think I might be interested in this session; the problem is, I don't know what "re-framing" is, exactly, and the session description assumes that I do. Possible to clarify? It's going to be hard to choose a session for the Wednesday afternoon bloc. NancyNethery
Dani was just complaining about that tonight - her session goes in that time slot, too. Well, I suppose it's better that people say,
"There were so many good sessions that I couldn't go to all the ones I wanted (which people said last year)"

than that they say,

"Why weren't there enough good sessions for me to go to?"

As for reframing, it's putting things in different perspective, which changes the way they look and the way people feel about them. For example, the attacks of September 11 reframed many of my problems. What seemed huge to me before now seemed to be small, compared to what could be happening to me. Does that help, Nancy, or do you want more? - JerryWeinberg
