SessionThree006Increasing Your Effectiveness as a Change Agent Methods and the Methodologies containing them exist to help us act profitably. Sometimes they take on a life of their own - perhaps over-shadowing their original purpose. In other cases, no thought is given to how to act profitably; any action will do. In this session, we will explore methods for applying methods - a meta-method. What are some good rules of thumb to have handy to help us figure out an action makes sense and money? When should they be applied? Can we mix and match methods from disparate methodologies? What similarities exists from methodology to methodology? Learning Objectives - begin to understand when and how to apply certain methods Prerequisites - frustration with evangelism surrounding any particular method Minimum: 8 Session Design The purpose of the session to invite thought about and participation in creating, applying and refining processes for solving problems. Participants will work in teams. First your team will devise and document a method for solving jigsaw puzzles. Next, a subset of your team will become your process consultants (leaving at least two not as consultants). The consultants then have the opportunity to apply your method with another team on the problem jigsaw puzzles that they have. Finally, the process consultants return home so that your team can work to refine your method. If it fits for your team, time will be allowed for presentation of your method.
