Tools and Using them Effectively

One way we can amplify our effectiveness is by using tools. We use tools in almost everything we do. Tools are so common that we often use them without knowing it. This session will examine tools and how we use them. The goal is to notice things about tools and their utility that we may have overlooked. Such awareness of tools may help us be more effective in our endeavors.

Learning objectives: At the end of the session, I hope the participants will be able to do the following things better:

1. Notice the available tools.
2. Notice what tools we use.
3. Notice how we use tools.
4. Learn some often overlooked principles of tools.

Prerequisites: Willing to participate.

Minimum number of people for your session to "work": 4

Maximum number of people based on your plan for the session: 20

Constraints/ Logistics Chairs for everyone. Tables to accommodate everyone. One flip chart with markers. Pens, pencils, paper. 3x5 cards At least one blank wall. 3x5 sticky note pads
