TripReportRequest2004

The hosts are constantly seeking feedback about the conference. We use the feedback to primarily increase the effectiveness of the conference and also to market the conference.

On the behalf of the other hosts, would those of you who participated in the 2004 conference and wrote trip reports share your report with us? We would gratefully accept the whole report or portions of it. Anything you feel okay sharing with us.

And, of course, we would seek your permission before using any portion of the report.

Send your trip report or any comments you have to me .

Thank you,
SteveSmith 2004.11.17

My blog entries about the conference are available at http://coachspot.blogspot.com/2004_11_01_coachspot_archive.html

Tim, I enjoyed reading your blog.

Tim Bacon: I would like to say a big thank you to the hosts and the other attendees for making it such a great conference: I know that as I go home I am taking a part of AYE with me.

Your participation made the conference better. Thank you for taking part of AYE home with you and continuing to participate through your feedback. I'm sure that other participants will enjoy reading your entries as well as people who are interested in becoming participants.

Happy Holidays, SteveSmith 2004.12.14

That was a great conference report, Rajesh. I suspect it will really give people a sense of what being at the conference is like, which is important because it's not like other conferences. Thank you for the kind things you said about my session, but please don't think of it as magic. It's learned behavior, and anybody can learn--though not in one trial, probably.

As far as your not wanting to impose some Indian cultural issues on a session, that was considerate of you, but not necessary. One of the underlying principles of Satir work and of our conference is that we grow through our differences. Another principle is that we deal with all the issues that are in the room. So, next year, I hope to hear more about Indian cultural issues as the affect the subjects under discussion. We are not all completely ignorant of culture, after all. You know, perhaps, that I'm married to an anthropologist, so I ignore cultural issues at my peril. One of the things that makes AYE great is the diversity of cultures there. Most, so far, have been Western European, but not all. You made a most valuable contribution--and believe me, you were worth any slight difficulty some people might have had understanding your accent. (How did you do with our accents?) - JerryWeinberg 2004.12.29

My intention of writing the report was to give my colleagues a sense of conference.

I will definitely keep that in mind when I participate this year. About accents- since I have been working with people from US and Europe (for quite some time), I did not have any problem with accents of others at AYE. - RajeshBabu 2005.01.08
