BallroomDancingAnybody

One of my hobbies is ballroom dancing. I've got some experience in the following dances (US not international styles):

  • Waltz
  • Fox Trot
  • Rumba
  • Cha Cha
  • Tango
  • East Coast Swing
  • West Coast Swing
  • Salsa

If anybody is interested, I'll track down some places to go out dancing and we can go. I'd be happy to give a few lessons in any of the above before we go out as well.

Lessons, I really want lessons. I wasn't going to bring dress-up shoes, but maybe now I will. JohannaRothman 2004.04.27
Johanna, no problemo. Any particular interestes from the above list? I generally do not wear dance shoes when I dance (though I have a pair). So long as you're not hurting your legs/knees, it's all good. BrettSchuchert 2004.04.27
I got an A+ in ballroom dancing, 55 years ago. Has anything changed? - JerryWeinberg 2004.04.28
I'd bet the important stuff has not changed much in 55 years. BrettSchuchert 2004.04.29
Yes please, lets go dancing. I love to dance (European Style - but that can't be all that different from US?), especially Rumba, Cha Cha and Waltz. Please count me in for all and any dancing activities! - RumanaDesai (new at AYE this year) 2004.06.23
Yes, it would be great to find a place for an informal dance, ballroom and whatever. If we track down a studio, we could possibly probably a combination intro group lesson and open dance.

In answer to Jerry, the clothes have become a bit more revealing. You'll have to decide how contemporary you want to be. StuartScott 2004.06.23

I've never ballroom danced. Sounds like it could be fun. Claire and I maybe up for it. -- HuwLloyd 2004.10.6
