TwoZeroZeroTwoSem

Two-Thousand-And-Two SEM group, of which I am a member. SEM is the third in the JerryWeinberg workshops. It is likely that TwoZeroZeroTwoSem will be the last.

I hope we do as well as the previous SEMs.

How could you not do as well :-)?? JohannaRothman 2002.09.30

I'll take that question as serious, since I've got some questions. At a minimum workshops (SEM02, for example) are an investment. I hope that a workshop would change the trajectory of the people in it. Of course, we don't get to do full blown a-b comparisons to find this out. There are some less rigorous approaches that can be directional, at least.

For myself, I'm not sure the trajectory is any different, I'm not sure how I'd know, nor what a useful change might be. I'm healthier than when I started SEM, but I suspect that - or a lot of that - would have happened anyway.

Within SEM sessions, I'm not sure I'm contributing sufficiently. Several folks have questioned, in public and private, whether I'm getting enough out of SEM. Within the population of people who have "done SEM" the folks in the previous SEMS seem to be happy. Many are successful, some significantly so. Some seem to be changing the world a bit. Many seem to get support from each other in doing these things.

I don't know that I'm doing any of that. Maybe it's sufficient that I'm recognizing how fed up I am with the field I'm in, and really considering a career change (including steps toward making it real) vs. just talking about it.
