I looked it up. PostIt is a registered trademark of the 3M company. The official web site is

3M makes some fine products that are useful for facilitating and creating an InformationRadiator.

We're supposed to add a "TM" to the word each time, so PostIt doesn't go the way of kleenex into the lexicon - at least that's what 3M wants. - JerryWeinberg 2003.04.07

3M also sells what amounts to PostIt-glue in a can, which you can spray on the back of cards to stick them to walls. Many of the office supply chains carry it in their drafting equipment section.
