IdeasForShapeDay2004For those coming to Shape Day, here's the place to put down your hopes and wishes. No guarantees as to what will happen, but if you don't put them down, you're much less likely to get them. - JerryWeinberg 2004.10.03 I would like to hear some of the things each SHAPEr has learned from the forum. - CharlesAdams 2004.10.04 (I am prepared for the answer, "No.") If it doesn't crop up elsewhere, I would like to explore HowToEstablishDialogues. For example, we could practice transitioning from discussive modes of conversing, on a technical subject, to a dialogue and back again. --HuwLloyd 2004.10.06 I would like to discuss how to help an organization change that knows it is sick, but doesn't realize there is another way. --AlanSmith 2004.10.07 I would like to discuss "playing against type". Every personality type has things they find hard. For example, I'm a tech lead and ENFP, so assigning tasks is hard for me, both because I like to do everything by consensus, and because it involves coming to closure. So I'd like to get ideas on strategies I can use to do the things I find hard. Maybe I could get an ISTJ to coach me? --JohnBrewer 2004.10.13 So far everything seems feasible, and interesting to me. Keep 'em coming. - JerryWeinberg 2004.10.13 John, Great Idea!! I would also like to talk about "playing against type". Or how to get unstuck when you are stuck. - AlanSmith 2004.10.14 John's problem is way too familiar. I would like to talk about this too. SherryHeinze 2004.10.14 If I get along this year I've got a great idea for SHAPE day - a large alarm clock in my room to wake me up so I don't miss the whole day! I guess the biggest thing I've learned from SHAPE (going back to CharlesAdams message at the start) is how to "play" with organisations. Not in a malicious way, but certainly in a way that got some surprising results. PhilStubbington 2004.10.17 Phil, I can't get this link to work even when I am already signed in to SHAPE. Nor can I find anything by searching for TH#211 or 211. Can you give me something to search for? SherryHeinze 2004.10.17 I believe thats the article titled "Steering By Serfs" -- HuwLloyd 2004.10.18 I often have the same problem as John, but in reverse. DaveSmith (IsTJ) 2004.10.17 Huw - you're right on the title! PhilStubbington 2004.10.25
